LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER

Mariam Rahyab, LCSW

I’m a licensed clinical social worker and doctoral student at New York University, where my work focuses on evidence-based mental health interventions and the science behind how people change. I’m committed to making therapy an empowering, practical, and collaborative process: one where clients understand the tools we use and why they work.

My approach is grounded in cognitive-behavioral therapy and other research-supported treatments that help people build skills, shift unhelpful patterns, and feel more in control of their day-to-day lives. Rather than dwelling on the past, we focus on what’s happening now and what can realistically help you move forward. I believe therapy should feel structured, transparent, and purposeful, and I strive to create a space where you can engage actively and confidently in your own growth.

In our work together, we’ll identify clear goals, break them down into manageable steps, and use strategies backed by psychological research to build resilience and improve wellbeing. Whether you're managing stress, anxiety, trauma symptoms, depression, or major life changes, my aim is to help you develop tools that make life more steady, predictable, and fulfilling.

If you’re seeking a therapist who values science, collaboration, and practical skills that create real change, I’m here to support you.

Let’s begin a process that is focused, empowering, and tailored to helping you thrive.
