LICENSED MASTER SOCIAL WORKER
John Cha, LMSW
Together, we can explore your feelings - whether it's sadness, anxiety, anger, guilt, or shame - in a way that feels safe and manageable. Learning to face difficult emotions instead of avoiding them can open the door to real growth and healing. I aim to create a supportive, non-judgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and able to focus on what matters most to you.
I have experience supporting clients with anxiety, depression, trauma, family and cultural dynamics, identity exploration, and life transitions. As a second-generation Asian American therapist, I understand how culture, family, and intergenerational experiences shape who we are. I have particular focus on working with Asian American and BIPOC individuals, helping them navigate questions of identity, belonging, and self-expression. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Southern California (USC) and my Master's degree in Social Work from Columbia University, and have trained in culturally informed, trauma-focused, and integrative therapeutic approaches.
I integrate relational-cultural therapy with evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma-Informed Care, tailoring our work to your unique needs. Together, we'll explore patterns, process emotions, and develop strategies to navigate life transitions, relationships, identity, and everyday challenges that can feel overwhelming.
