LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER
Curtis Dick, LCSW
(He/Him)
My clinical career began working with at-risk and justice-involved youth and later expanded into behavioral health clinic settings. These experiences taught me something fundamental: every person has a story worth understanding.
Many of us carry messages about ourselves that we did not create. Sometimes those messages come from family, relationships, communities, or difficult life experiences. Over time, they can become internalized and shape how we see ourselves and the world around us. They can contribute to depression, anxiety, trauma-related symptoms, and a sense of being stuck in patterns that no longer serve us.
My approach to therapy begins with curiosity rather than assumptions. I strive to meet each person as an individual, not as a diagnosis or a set of symptoms. Together, we explore your experiences, identify your strengths, and better understand the challenges that are preventing you from living the life you want.
In my work, I draw from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Narrative Therapy. These approaches help us identify cognitive distortions, address symptoms of distress, build practical coping skills, and develop healthier ways of relating to ourselves and others.
At the heart of my work is the belief that meaningful change happens when people feel heard, understood, and empowered. Therapy can provide a space to make sense of your experiences, recognize your resilience, and move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and self-compassion. Whatever challenges bring you to therapy, I look forward to working with you to own your narrative.
